After many complaints and discussions with McGills, work is to start on providing a dedicated bus bay and relocation of the bus shelter on Greenock Road to the front of the village.  Work is scheduled to commence on August 26th for 2 weeks.

Cllr Iain Nicolson said “The issue of McGills changing fricers on Old Greenock Road became intolerable.  There could be up to 3 buses nose to tails physically occupying a large stretch of narrow road forcing drivers and pedestrians to take increased risks.

I held discussions and meetings with McGills, including the managing director to find a way forward.  I had no hesitation in calling the situation potentially dangerous to road users and pedestrians.  The issue has moved forward to a start date for the work, which is welcome.  I will continue to pursue the second part, wich incolces a bus pull in lane to the rear of the depot”
